Passive Income Geek Review: Is This Blogging Course Legit?

the passive income geek review

For quite some time now, Internet marketing has been about choosing a niche, finding high volume keywords, creating content and building links to rank on Google and make money. Yet with many marketers following the exact same strategy, competition in the blogging business is a lot higher now than it used to be.

Still, even a competitive market is easy to penetrate provided you have the right lead. Which is exactly what Passive Income Geek promises to teach you. But is Passive Income Geek legit or is it just another random course on the internet?

Is Passive Income Geek Legit?

Passive Income Geek is a legit course created by Morten Storgaard to teach you how to build websites and make money with display ads. You learn how to find topics, hire writer, create content, and scale your business for a long-term, sustainable passive income.

Like Income School, Passive Income Geek course focuses on doing search analysis to find topics that are easy to rank. And then it emphasizes on creating quality content that satisfy searchers’ intent.

One of the things that stand about the course is just how easy it is to follow from start to finish. Having gained access to it myself, and not exactly for the purpose of this review, I can say that I find the combination of video tutorials and written materials incredibly useful.

The Complete Passive Income Geek Review

I spent 30+ hours studying and analyzing the Passive Income Geek course to learn why it has so many positive reviews online. Although there are quite a few things that are already obvious, particularly given that Morten Storgaard shares them for free on his YouTube channel, I must say I was quite impressed with the course material.

To be clear, Passive Income Geek isn’t for you if you’re looking for an advanced (or intermediate) Internet marketing course. The course materials are beginner base, with the main goal seemingly being to help newbie bloggers learn how to start blogging and make passive income in advertisement revenue.

Starting at $299 for the first year, and then $99 every year, the Passive Income Geek is the most affordable blogging course on the web.

CourseInstructor Cost
Authority Site SystemGael Breton and Mark Webster$997
The Affiliate LabMatt  Diggity$997
Passive Income GeekMorten Storgaard$299 then $99/year
Income School Project 24Jim Hammer and Ricky Kesler$499 then $299/year

By the way, all these courses are incredible. But if you don’t have the budget to invest in the Authority Site System, The Affiliate Lab, or Income School’s Project 24, Passive Geek Income can still equip you with the knowledge you need to get started with building, monetizing, and scaling passive income online.

What’s the Idea Behind Passive Income Geek?

Passive Income Geek sprang from the demand from the YouTube Channel that goes by the same name.

From what I’ve learned after digging into the course for over 30 hours, Morten Storgaard teaches a similar approach to what I learned from Income School’s Project 24, with the only difference being that Morten stresses more on making passive income through ads.

At least that means if you can’t afford the price point of the Project 24 you can get almost the same value from Passive Income Geek at almost half the price less.

What You Learn in Passive Income Geek Course

There are 9 modules in the current Passive Income Geek blogging course. If you choose to take this program, you will learn:

  • How to choose a niche
  • Finding underserved topics
  • How to choose the best domain name
  • The right way to setup your website
  • The process of writing great content
  • SEO tips you can use to grow your site
  • How to monetize your blog once it has traffic
  • Social media
  • How to outsource content

When I looked at each module, I noticed that there’s quite some great content in there to explore. Not to mention that they’re both theoretical and practical lessons to give you a good balance of “what you should know” and “what you should do”.

Is Passive Income Geek Worth It? (6 Reasons to Become a Member)

If you want to learn how to build and scale niche websites from scratch, with ads being your primary monetization channel for the projects, you’ll find the Passive Income Geek course golden.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re green in the industry or you have a site that isn’t gaining traction yet. This course will point you in the right direction so you don’t waste time focusing on things that don’t work.

So what exactly makes this course worth it?

1. Morten Storgaard Has The Industry Experience

I’ve been working online long enough to know what differentiates real marketing experts from self-proclaimed gurus.

For me, nothing raises my eyebrows and gives me the spark to look into a course more deeply than ACTUAL RESULTS.

If a course creator can show me exactly how they’ve implemented their process and the results they’ve got so far, I’m all in.

Passive Income Geek stands out because Morten Storgaard shows the sites that he has built from scratch and scaled to over 10,000 organic visits for the time he has been in the business.

To be precise, Morten Storgaard has created three websites, which he uses as case studies to support his claims in this course. These sites are:

  • GoDownsize.com
  • AnimalHow.com
  • SewingMachineTalk.com

I’m more likely to trust this person’s process because he doesn’t hold back revealing the results one can get for implementing his process.

2. You Learn Something New, Not Conventional Strategies

The conventional approach to building a passive income niche website online is nothing new.

  • Find a niche
  • Use keyword research tools such as Ahrefs and Semrush to find keywords you can target
  • Spend time writing content
  • Build (or buy) backlinks
  • Rank and bank

To be clear:

I have nothing wrong with the above approach. The only problem is that everyone is using the approach.

Passive Income Geek teaches a different strategy. And while it may look controversial to many SEO experts on the web, there’s actually nothing better than focusing on topic research and creating quality content.

The days of keyword research are dead and long gone – well, almost dead.

When you start to think of semantic search and keyword grouping, you just can’t do blogging and SEO like we’re in 2012.

If you become a member of Passive Income Geek, you will learn to focus more on the two most important elements that matter in setting up a strong foundation for your online business.

These are underserved topics and high quality content.

Finding underserved topics will not only make it easy for you to create a content production plan, but also it will guide your content creation process.

3. The Program Has An Active Community

One of the things I love about this blogging course is the insider community. It has some of the most helpful people in the niche websites business, making the platform a good place to ask questions if you feel stuck.

A few courses have this all-around type of support. So when the course creator isn’t around to respond to all your questions, you can always get help almost in an instant.

4. It’s Perfect for Beginners

I’ll tell you straight out that if you’re looking for some advanced blogging techniques or some hidden SEO secrets that the gurus don’t want you to know, this course isn’t for you.

First, I don’t think there’s such thing as SEO secrets anymore. You can find hundreds of useful strategies month after month by just doing research.

Second, from having gone through the entire course myself, I find Passive Income Geek a lot more suitable for beginners than for someone who’s looking for some insanely advanced SEO advice.

You won’t learn how to use WordPress or about which page builder to use. There isn’t a module to teach you site audits or hosting teardown.

That’s simply because these lessons are beyond the scope of what Morten teaches in the course.

5. Quick Wins With Underserve Topics

Maybe it’s just me, but I think there’s already too much competition on the web that you can’t just create content for high volume keywords, hit the publish button and stop for the day.

You need to learn exactly how to find low hanging fruits (or keywords many bloggers don’t target) and create great content around them.

That’s what Passive Income Geek teaches you to do.

By learning exactly how to find underserved topics in just about any niche, it will be easy for you to scale your niche website despite the tough competition in the online business.

6. Mix of Text and Video Series

One thing I noticed about this course that’s a little different from what you’ll find in Project 24 is the mix of text and video series.

That’s a good thing, because some descriptions don’t really require videos.

And I do love how Morten has balanced the content, making video where it’s impossible to explain a concept without one and using only text where things need simplification.

What I Don’t Like About Passive Income Geek

Here are a few things I don’t like about this blogging course:

1. Morten Doesn’t Include a Content Creation Module

This course would have been even much better for beginners if it had a content creation module.

Why?

It’s because beginners would want an over-the-shoulder guide on exactly how to structure different types of content for the best results.

Given that such a truly fundamental piece is missing from the course, beginners will have to look at a different course, or jungle through countless YouTube videos, to learn how to write great content that people would like to read.

2. There’s a Quick Rush on Some Modules

I feel like Morten rushes some modules later in this course, leaving you only with succinct information that isn’t quite substantial.

For example, I don’t think the website setup module is thorough. Here, the instructor only shows the design setup of their website but hardly goes into details on how the page builder they use work.

It’s best if Morten takes a step and tune up modules that feel more succinct. At least this will give learners more value.

Final Thoughts

Overall, Passive Income Geek is a legit course that will teach you how to create, monetize, and scale your website.

It does require some work upfront, but if you’re consistent and keep your head in the game, you will definitely benefit from the material taught in the course.
